Mariam Demian emigrated with her family at a young age from Cairo, Egypt to Ottawa, Canada. She attended the University of Ottawa & shortly after graduating lived in South Korea, where she found her love for story telling and began writing. She now resides in Vancouver British Columbia. ‘Nawal’ is Mariam’s first published work
